Hydrodynamics of bore-hole hydromechanical compensator the pressure fluctuation of drilling fluid

Drilling mud pump's operation is the main source of pressure fluctuations of flushing fluid during wells drilling. The pressure fluctuations lead to narrowing of the range of stableworking of downhole hydraulic motors, vibration, reducing the resistance ofthe bit, reducing the lifetime of surface and downhole drilling equipment. The article reveals the influence of uneven pressure of flushing fluid to the drilling process, provides analytical researchof working of the designed downhole hydro-mechanical compensator of pressure fluctuations of the flushing fluid, installed in the bottomhole assembly.
Materials and methods
In order to solve the tasks wereused the basic laws of theoretical mechanics, fluid mechanics, analytical and experimental methods.
Results
Analytical solution of the hydrodynamic task of defining the changes of pressure and speed of movement of the fluid passing through the stage compensator was made based on the selected model of fluid flow interacting with the piston of the hydromechanical compensator.
Сonclusions
1. To reduce the negative influence of pressure fluctuations of the flushing fluid to the drilling process in this article designed and protected by patents downhole hydro-mechanical compensators are showed.
2. The analytical dependence of the degree of reduction of the amplitude of pressure fluctuations of the drilling fluid from the number of installed in the compensator stages of damping was found.
3. Positive results of laboratory and field tests of the designed compensator evidence of the validity of theoretical positions and high efficiency of working of the compensator.
