Hydraulic fracturing, using soluble spheres technology as diverters

The technology of hydraulic fracturing, using diverter spheres, is described in the article. The aim of the technology is to decrease labor costs and time for manufacturing of hydraulic fracturing on objects, having several separated productive layers. Pilot tests were carried out on “Urayneftegaz” of “LUKOIL-Western Siberia”.
Materials and methods
Laboratory testing of diverter spheres, concerned with optimal conditions, necessary for solubility in reservoir water, fracturing liquid, and acid, was carried out within the development work.Researches of diverter spheres ability of maintaining pressure difference were done. The system of differential pressure was constructed from the ground up.
Results
The technology has proved its efficiency. Technical and economic benefit from technology adoption of diverter spheres is:
• oil recovery increasing due to hydraulic fracturing;
• risk minimization in technology adoption.
Сonclusions
Technologies are adopted in oil fields of “Uraineftegaz”, taking into account theresults of laboratory tests and positive results of industrial tests. Researches of spheres solubility in the samples of reservoir water and fracturing liquids, the application on other oil fields of “LUKOIL-West Siberi” is planned. Approbation of three intervals intensification, using the method, is also planned for the future.
