New trends in multiphase pumping systems development

Article presents factors analysis results, influencing power characteristics and service life of the pumping system. The description of the new design rubber-metal stator, reinforced by metal inserts, drive shaft and pump unit protecting device against adverse gas impact during liquid phase low fraction medium pumping or at absolute liquid phase absence (“dry running”) pumping are also presented.
Materials and methods
Mainstream for improving oil, water and gaspumping systems was chosen on the basisof long experience of design, production and operation of pumping systems and downhole motors.
Results
New design of rubber-metal stator, drive shaft and pumping systems protection against gas adverse impact were developed.
Сonclusions
Application of new design reinforced stators and drive shaft allows to increase powercharacteristics of pumps. Gas protecting device application provides long term accident-free operation of pumping systems during liquid phase low fraction medium pumping or at absolute liquid phase absence “dry running”.
