Sergey L. Golofast

The paper presents the results of studies of the mechanical properties of the material of pipes made of 17G1S steel by various manufacturers of tubular products, and an assessment of the influence of these properties on the strength reliability of main pipelines. Results processing of studies for mechanical characteristics of pipe steels and the calculation of the probability of failure-free operation of main pipeline linear sections according to the strength criterion are based on the mathematical apparatus of non-parametric statistics, taking into account the actual distribution laws of the random variables under study.

Anatoly E. Tolstov, Alexander E. Zorin, Evgeny E. Zorin

The article presents the results of full scale tests, in which studied the influence of metal pipe bundles on the pipelines functionality. It is shown, that in case the influence of non-design loads on oil and gas pipelines, as well as when the genesis of metal bundles is caused by the degradation of metal properties, such defects can have a negative impact on the resistance of the pipeline to destruction.

Increasing of drill-pipe endurance capability, based on modeling and controlling of thread burnishing parameters

Mikhail V. Pesin

The correlations between constructive and technological process parameters of drill-pipe tapered surface thread burnishing (configuration of hardenable rolling element, load rate, root radius), magnitude of residual stress and stress distribution on the thread surface were interrelated. They are based upon the set of discovered mathematical models and experimental research of stressed-deformed state and fatigue tests.

Definition of velocity profile for turbulent flow in a circular cylindrical pipe by means of numerical methods

Artem A. Korenevsky, Michael V. Ryabinin

Determination of flow resistance at unsteady flow condition is still a problem for engineering hydraulic calculations even in a circular pipe. The issue becomes important when considering special practical problems, in particular, hydraulic impact. Such problems include hydraulic fracturing aimed at stimulating oil well productivity. To create calculation programs implementing the mathematical models of this processit is necessary to set the initial conditions not only reflecting the relationship of flow parameters, but also having a convenient representation for further calculations. The article describes a method of the velocity profile construction over the cross section of a circular pipe at steady flow conditions in a form convenient to use in the hydrodynamic calculations. Transformation of the profile differential equation into a discrete analogue for calculations using the non-uniform discretization grid was applied.

Reacting pipes with increased operation life for petrochemical plants

Sergey V. Afanasiev, Stanislav P. Sergeev, Alexander V. Pyrkin, Alexey S. Afanasiev

Centrifugal-casted pipes of high-temperature steels and alloys are widely used in many branches of engineering. For example, radiant pipes are used in thermal furnaces with protective atmosphere, hearth rolls are used in continuous thermal and heating furnaces of ironworks, rollers are used in continuous annealing units etc. Opportunity of increasing of natural gas high-temperature conversion working parameters on the methanol and ammonia units is very important question, because temperature and pressure increasing not only raise up productivity of units, but also decreasesproduct cost price and allows to get hydrogen with higher purity.

Compound steel pipe having an inner and an outer polymeric coating

Maxim V. Kalachev, Igor A. Savin

The main purpose of this paper isto provide a reliable and durable in operation of the pipeline, which has an inner and an outer polymer coatinginsulation and preservation of pipeline capacity and ease of installation. With the construction of long, fishing and pipelines, where the main type of connection is welding, pipewith an inner polymer coating and outer insulation so far used is limited. This is due to the fact that the mountingpipe during welding in a large coverage area of the weld burns. This is especially true of pipelines, inside of which can not get people (diameter 600 mm).Naked weld metal with prolonged contact with corrosive media is subjected to corrosion, which may be the cause of the accident.
